Encounter Data Dental Processing Update
Per the HPMS memo dated 5/1/2026 titled “Encounter Data Dental Phase II Submission and Reporting,” CMS has started implementing the processes associated with Dental Phase 2. CMS anticipates that the reprocessing of Phase 1 submissions may result in rejected records, and any rejected files are expected to be corrected and resubmitted.
The reprocessing of Dental data was completed on 6/9/2026. All newly submitted Dental files that were previously on hold have now been processed, and processing for all Dental submissions is currently up to date.
